- South African court frees miners after charges dropped. The first group of miners facing murder charges stemming from killings during a strike action that was broken up by police have been released from custody.
- Başbakan Yardımcısı Bülent Arınç, Şırnak'ın Beytüşşebap İlçesi'nde 10 askerin şehit olmasının ardından BDP'ye ve PKK'ya sert tepki gösterdi. Arınç, "BDP kendisini kapattırmak istiyor" dedi.
- Coal miners who staged a strike by holing themselves up inside Italy's only coal mine call off their protest after the government agrees to keep the pit open.
- French unemployment hits 13-year high. Pressure builds on President Francois Hollande as number of unemployed people passes three million threshold.
- Germany's Independent Flight Attendants' Organization (UFO) has presented Lufthansa with an ultimatum to improve its wage offer. The labor union threatened the German carrier with nationwide strike action.
- Oscar winning actor Russell Crowe is rescued by the US coastguard after getting lost on a kayak trip on New York's Long Island.
- Belfast clashes erupt for 2nd night. Fifteen police officers were injured in Belfast late Monday in a second night of disorder between Catholics and Protestants, prompting a top police officer to warn that someone will be killed if it continues.
- Typhoon Bolaven kills 48 people in North Korea and leaves more than 50 others injured or missing, the state-run KCNA news agency reports.
- Türkiye İstatistik Kurumu (TÜİK), Ağustos ayında Tüketici Fiyatları Endeksinin (TÜFE) yüzde 0.56 oranında, Üretici Fiyatları Endeksinin (ÜFE) ise yüzde 0.26 oranında arttığını açıkladı. Açıklanan veriyle, Ağustos itibarıyla yıllık enflasyon TÜFE'de yüzde 8.88, ÜFE'de yüzde 4.56 artış gösterdi.
- Beytüşşebap ilçe merkezindeki güvenlik noktalarına teröristlerce düzenlenen saldırıda 10 güvenlik görevlisi şehit oldu.
